Well, we’re back home now and my relatives are on the plane back to England as I write. We sure packed a lot into one overnight trip.
I managed to get some wonderful sunrise shots despite having only 4 hours sleep for the second night running, but I was determined to see the light emerge. There is something magical about watching the darkness disappear. That moment in time where you can’t quite see the world around you has a surreal effect on my senses. Once the full sunlight appears, I feel rather depressed for awhile.
The hustle and bustle of everyone packing to leave soon changed that and I did manage another hours shuteye. The day was sunny and perfect for checking out the beaches back in the National Park.
We were blessed at having two completely different scenario’s weatherwise. It shows the different moods of The Prom and I think my cousin and family will treasure it and are lucky to have experienced those mood swings.
Not sure I can say the same for them about my mood swings, though. LOL. We had a day of playing on the beaches and picnicking, then had our last dinner together after travelling out from Tidal River at dusk again with more stops to view the wildlife. We said our farewells then Dad, Charlotte and I headed home whilst my cousin and co. took off to Melbourne for the night so as they could do the touristy thing there before flying out.
Today has been a cleaning, washing and shopping day for the most part. Too nice to be inside, really, but it had to be done. Dad wanted to go to his home and needed me to take him. He is unable to drive these days due to vision problems. We all live in a lovely part of the world, so at least the drive isn’t tedious and the views and surrounding country at Dad’s made it feel as though the ‘holiday’ was continuing, but I am desperate for sleep.
So, if you don’t mind, I think I will try to get into bed before midnight. Who knows what tomorrow has in store. There are so many choices and it is going to be a balmy 21C. Quite ridiculous and worrying for Winter, but I shall be making the most of it with my family doing some sort of outdoor activity.
