Yeah, I agree Christine, just as there is a feeling of contentment with one area of life, there is some restlessness in another. I am relatively content with this discontent though... surely it is part of what inspires us to grow and change?

I don't read many autobiographies, so I haven't heard words from anyone who has truly felt they've been content with life. I assume it's quite normal to flow through points of contentment, but to actually remain content? Don't know...

Marni, I love that you keep checking in with my posts :-)

It might sound strange, but sometimes I want to have a break from trying to grow and change. I want to be content with me, as I am, in the here and now. lol

I have days, like today where I feel pretty good about myself and life, but they sometimes seem to be so few and far between. More would be nice :-)

Aha, Tishia that's my point. I've met many who are working on being content, but noone that truly is. I feel that when we find contentment in one area, then another unsettling area shows itself and another and so on.

I'll continue to live in hope that contentment does exist, though. I'm not completely cynical.

Great post. Yes I do believe that contentment exists. As a Christian one of the things I'm learning is that God wants me to be content in all circumstances. Am I content? In some areas yes, in other areas I'm not there yet but I'm working on it.
