Back To My Old Gig

I’m still not getting to bed before midnight. I failed dismally the last two nights even though I tried. Tonight I’m not even going to bother trying. I’ll get there when I do. LOL.

My daughter and I had a pretty cruisy day except for when it came time to head out. As always, Charlotte just wants to play 24/7 and getting her ready without stifling her joy is almost impossible. She’ll try to turn anything into a game and sometimes, it just aint appropriate ie when I have a gig to do at a certain time. We really butt heads on that one. But, we did get out of the house eventually and well in time. I’m not one to threaten leaving Charlotte behind although I have stated that I will go and sit in the car and wait which seems to do the trick and I will follow through on it, but Charlotte doesn’t give me a chance.

For some years now I’ve been a Presenter at our local Community radio station, 103.1 3BBR FM, but I have had a long break and being a Volunteer allows me the freedom of coming and going with this particular work . Finally, tonight, I was back on air, filling in for another Presenter. I’ll be doing the same again for her in a couple of weeks. It’s a two hour stint and with any of the programs, we Presenters choose the music, but it is easy listening from 7am to 6pm. My time tonight was 6-8pm, so I was able to play my own genre of music. I have eclectic taste, with a leaning towards Bluegrass, so it was fun dusting off some of my CD’s. It felt great being back in the drivers seat at the Station, but I sure felt as though I had my ‘L’ plates on. I felt quite nervous initially, but managed to babble my way through as I do with these ramblings on my blog. lol

Although I don’t want to get into a regular groove again with the Presenting just yet, I have been wanting to do fill ins for quite sometime and might just try and do a few more, although tonights time slot and style of program suits me well. It was fun and it lifted my Spirits which took a further nose dive last night. Just still feeling things now that we’re back to normal. Whatever that means!

Saying I was flat after my relatives left was quite an understatement. It has had quite an effect on my emotions, but getting out and about tonight was a good thing. It also gave me a wee break from Motherhood which is a rare occurence.
