So, where did the time go? It feels as though I was here only two days ago, but not so. Monday was somewhat of a write off for me. I was feeling ready to explode which happens from time to time and a little too much some weeks. No need to give the gory details. I decided to head off to my Dads with Charlotte. He lives in a serene part of the world.

It was my radio stint in the evening, so I had to pull up bright and cheery somehow and playing my music and dancing around the studio works a treat for that.

Yesterday was the complete opposite to Monday. Charlotte and I had a farewell lunch to go to with a bunch of Mums and their kids. We actually managed a decent chat without being interrupted for the first time in a long time whilst the children played beautifully. We started out at a park, then walked to the lunch venue which had an outdoor play area, then some of us went back to the park again after lunch and Charlotte succeeded in walking up and down on some fairly tricky balancing steps without any help. Proud Mum here.

The farewell lunch was for a friend of mine and her 4 yr old daughter. They are heading off for a new life on the coast and we are all invited to visit whenever we want. How to have a beach housewithout having a beach house! Very nice. It’s a lovely part of the world and only an hour or so away.

My friend is heading into new territory as a Step Mum. I have been and am still, there and it’s a tricky one but I know She will take it on with gusto. There’s been a lengthy getting to know one another period for everyone unlike my own situation where I/we were thrown into it very quickly almost 6 yrs ago.

I do get side tracked. After the park I suggested to Charlotte that we call into our fave cafe on the way home, but didn’t realise how weary I was until I hopped into the car and I tried unsuccessfully to back track on that one.  Off to to the Cafe we trekked and perfect timing.

The owner is a good friend and She had to work and couldn’t make the farewell lunch, but we got to catch up with her and the family afterall. Her daughter is a good friend of Charlotte’s and She rocked up with her Daddy and baby bro’ not long after us. More playtime for Charlotte.

Today the same little girl came here to play whilst her Mum and brother had some time out. It was a clear, sunny day for the most part, so we were outside nearly all afternoon. The girls jumped on the trampoline and used the caravan as a cubby house and had the best time together. I pottered in the garden, sweeping leaves, planting and tended to the childrens’ needs which were surprisingly few. We’ve had two lovely days in a row and I’m going to push for three. How greedy of me. lol.

I was going to talk about what brought me to blogging, wasn’t I? Nevermind. I will get to that in the not too distant future, I’m sure. It’s been lovely catching up and I’ll be here again hopefully before three days have passed by.
